Nick will make every endeavour to assist students in fostering their curiosity, developing their skills, and achieving the highest possible performance levels. Nick will facilitate a fun, engaging musical experience for your child and encourage them to be part of the wider school music community. They will also be given at least one opportunity to perform in front of an audience during the year.

Advancement and success not only depend on Nick’s input and guidance but also on the continued support and encouragement of the student’s parents/ caregivers. Students will be expected to practice at home for 10 to 30 minutes, 3 to 5 times a week.

If the student is absent or forgets to attend their lesson and no prior notification of absence has been given to Nick, SAMii will still process payment for that lesson.

Students that are unwell are encouraged to not attend lessons and you are entitled to four lesson fee refunds per school year to allow for illness.

Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a percussion ensemble to further help them explore performance and rhythmic expression. This will be a separate session and is optional, however requires regular weekly commitment on top of drum lessons for all participating students.

Lesson fees will be indicated by SAMii and are inclusive of GST and a 3% SAMii admin fee. SAMii will always attempt to hold two lesson payments in advance and make a direct debit weekly. If direct debits repeatedly default during a term and these advance payments are depleted, lessons will be suspended and you will need to reenrol if you wish to continue.

If Nick is unable to attend on the day of the lesson, Nick will cancel within SAMii and you will be notified. The payment for that lesson will stay credited to your account and automatically be transferred to the following week.

In order to best protect children, Nick will not attend lessons when unwell and will be entitled to two paid missed lesson per school year to allow for illness.

Students will attend a 30-minute lesson each week. Students are encouraged to take responsibility for attending lessons on time and bringing the required learning materials to each lesson. If students do not attend, Nick will collect students from class at his discretion but with no obligation to do so. Lesson times will be made available via email before the commencement of term.

If a student has a planned absence, it is the responsibility of the parent / caregiver/ student to cancel the lesson within SAMii 48 hours prior. In an emergency or a sudden illness please contact Nick no later than 7:30am on the day of lesson by text message. Please DO NOT rely on the school staff to pass on any correspondence.

As per school fee policy, in order to maintain your position within the lesson schedule, any student who takes a holiday trip (short or extended) will not be eligible for refunds or make-up lessons.

To monitor and improve progress while providing stronger, more memorable performance outcomes, some lessons and performances will be filmed.
